Ngati Tuwharetoa, Ngati Awa, Tuhoe, Whakatohea. Hone is currently a Curriculum Designer at Te Wananga o Aotearoa (TWoA) responsible for developing or redeveloping programmes. Having been with Te Wananga-o-Raukawa since 2004, in Jan 2011 Hone took up a new position with TWoA. Graduating with a MML, MMMgt, PtReo from Raukawa, and a MIndS with distinction from Otago. Hone is married to Hani. They have four boys and two girls. Born and raised in Kawerau he has been active in his children’s education from Te Kohanga Reo, Kura Kaupapa Māori, Wharekura and now Wānanga. Hone will enroll in 2011 as a PhD student at Otago University. His doctoral thesis focuses on the current role of marae in maintaining and building a positive identity for hapu in post-treaty settlement Aotearoa NZ.
