View PublicationsClaire is completing her PhD at the University of Cambridge, on indigenous peoples' rights under international law. She is a senior lecturer at the Victoria University of Wellington Law Faculty (since completing her LLM at New York University on a Fulbright Scholarship). Claire is an active advocate in indigenous peoples’ rights in international fora. She represented Maori tribal interests before the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, participated in negotiations on the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and represented the interests of the global indigenous peoples’ caucus in the Human Rights Council. Claire is a member of the International Law Association’s Committee on Indigenous Peoples’ Rights.
