View PublicationsTe Rarawa Anna has been a Senior Tutor and Junior Lecturer with The School of Māori and Indigenous Studies at Canterbury University for five years. She has research interests in contemporary Māori society, pre-contact Māori society, analyzing the construction, representation and underlying theoretical influences of race-relations on understandings of Maori representation. Anna also has an interest in Māori and indigenous women’s issues. Anna has a strong commitment to iwi, Māori communities and has long been associated with student networks at both the local, and national levels. One of Anna’s passions is education and encouraging the intellectual aspirations of people. Anna is married with two children that sometimes make life hectic, but meaningful.
