B.1968 Kaitaia. Kelly Ana Morey is an award winning writer of both fiction and non-fiction. A graduate of the UoA creative writing programme, to date she has written six books, with her latest novel Quinine being published in 2010. In 2004 her first novel Bloom won the NZSA Hubert Church First Book Prize and in 2005 Morey was the inaugral receipent of the Janet Frame Literary Award for Imaginative Fiction. Morey holds two degrees from the UoA, in English and art history. She is currently undertaking an art history PhD at the UoA. Her research areas include photography, museum archives, contemporary Maori art and Australian modernist art.
