View PublicationsKia ora! He uri ahau i ngā iwi o Ngai Tūhoe, Ngāti Ruapani ki Waikaremoana, me Te Ati Awa ki Waiwhetu. Tihei mauriora! Mei is currently a pouako/ lecturer on the BED and Master's programmes at Te Whare Wananga o Awanuiarangi, Whakatane. She comes from a background in Special Education using Māori pedagogy, and as Resource Teacher: Learning and Behaviour (RTLB Māori) for seven years. Her Masters research evaluated the assessment tools in a transition to English programme in a Kaupapa Māori School. In the last few years she has worked very closely with the PTE and wananga sectors in vocational areas like building, construction and allied trades (BCATs), and with engineering trades to develop literacy resources.
