I was Business Manager for Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga from 2008 until early 2011, then I became Executive Director. In this role I direct and plan the Centre’s business activities, including contracting, financial operations, resources planning, risk management and managing the Centre's investment portfolios.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Applied Sciences and a Master's degree in Health Sciences with honours, and am a member of the Project Management Institute. I came to the Centre having been the Research Programme Manager for the Social Statistics Research Group, establishing the Centre of Methods and Policy Applications in the Social Sciences (COMPASS) at The University of Auckland, and with four years' experience as Manager of the New Zealand Social Statistics Network (NZSSN). In 2007 I was appointed manager of the New Zealand Social Science Data Service at The University of Auckland. I have held management positions at the Survey Research Unit and the Centre for Health Services Research and Policy, School of Population Health, The University of Auckland; the Health Services Research Team, National Primary Medical Care Study, Department of Community Health, The University of Auckland; and others. And also has extensive experience in the field of research, business development, programme management and strategic planning.
I currently co-leads a programme of research looking at Iwi household whanau socio-economic wellbeing using New Zealand Census Data over a 25 year period. This programme provides five participating Iwi detailed analysis and trends of their peoples environment/households through census based indicators, predominately economic.
