Assessing Hauora Māori in clinical settings research project

Expertise: 

Study to develop assessment tools and evaluate the assessment of the Hauora Māori (Health of Māori) domain in the Year 4 General Medicine attachment in the medical programme. This is led by Dr Rhys Jones and has Akō Aōtearoa funding and Ethics approval. As part of the study, a short workshop is planned with a select group of clinical teachers to look at the new curriculum framework, and then discuss how current assessments might be improved.

Emotional interventions for children with challenging behaviour

Expertise: 

Research on the utility of combining behavioural interventions with emotion-based components of intervention for children with developmental disability and challenging behaviour is limited. The current study aimed to gather empirical evidence identifying the importance of considering emotional and motivational needs in addressing behavioural difficulties in children with developmental disabilities.
